Season Approaching

Dear Kalispell Laker family,

I know you are all anxious to know when the season will finally start. Some of it is depending on the weather situation and at this stage we are still looking for a suitable facility to start our indoor practices. We have had some promising leads but none came to fruition, so if you know of any heated space, gym, large room, storage area etc approx 60’ x 30’ let me (261-4810) or the coach Malmin (253-2232) know.

We are also still looking for some help with the Laker Auction on May 9, 2008 as well. This would involve a pretty big commitment, but if we could find two or three individuals it’s very doable. We have had great success with the auction in the past few years and it is a big fund raiser for us, so please step up to the plate if you can. Anybody interested please contact me at 261-4810 and I will put you in contact with the couple that did it for the past two years.

The board is also working on the purchase of a new larger scoreboard that we are planning to have installed this spring at the start of the new season. Also, a committee has been appointed to present a proposal how we are going to handle the team bus this year. We are debating to purchase a newer smaller bus that is easier to drive and would provide the players with a more comfortable travel experience. As always we could really use some sponsors for either item, if you know of anybody or any business that would be willing to help us out, please contact me.

So far we have 19 players officially signed up and another 15 players that either have no paper work turned in yet or are undecided. Also if you know of any other kids that are looking for signup packages let me know as well. Some of you still need some additional paperwork turned in, so please complete all necessary items and get them to me.
