Kalispell Lakers Head Coach: Ryan Malmin - since 2005

Coach Malmin played American Legion baseball in Whitefish, Montana for the Glacier Twins from 1988-1990. At that time, the Twins won the conference championship in 1989 and qualified for the state tournament all three years including a third place finish in 1990. In 1995 and 1996, Ryan returned to the Glacier Twins as an assistant coach for Julio Delgado when the Twins were the state runner-up in 1996. From 1997-2005 Ryan was the Glascow Reds Manager where he guided the Reds to 258-109 win/loss record and 7 state tournament appearances including a state runner-up finish in 2000. Coach Malmin is in his fourth year as the Lakers Head Coach. He is a high school English teacher at Flathead High School where he also coaches varsity football. He has recently completed his Master's degree in Sports Administration. Ryan is married to his wife, Shannon, and they have two great kids, Walker and Kaysie.

Kalispell Lakers Assistant AA Coach: Carl Hennell - since 2006

Coach Hennell played American Legion baseball in Hamilton, Montana, for
the Bitteroot Bucs from 1991-1993. The Bucs won two Western A titles,
one state championship and advanced to the state consolation game in
those years. Carl began coaching in 1994, for a Stevensville, Montana,
AAU-18 softball team, which advanced to the state consolation game.
After a tour in the military as a parachute infantryman in the 82nd
Airborne Division, Carl earned a Bachelor's degree from the University
of Montana in journalism. He was immediately immersed back into
Montana's American Legion baseball scene as a sports reporter in
Missoula, Butte and Kalispell for a combined nine years. Carl returned
to the coaching ranks in 2005 as an assistant for the Butte Miners
Class AA legion team, which advanced to the state tournament for the
first time in seven years.
Carl and his wife, Olivia, moved to Kalispell in 2006, but his employer
would not let him continue coaching. He finally found the opportunity
in 2008. Carl is working to obtain a Master's degree (at Flathead
Valley Community College through a University of Great Falls program)
in Secondary Education, where he hopes to use other degrees in English,
history, math and journalism to teach in a local high school and
continue coaching

Kalispell Lakers Head A Coach: Pat Connors - since 2005

Coach Connors was born April 4, 1980 in Salt Lake City Utah. He moved to Kalispell as a kid and has been living here for 20 years. He started playing baseball in Kalispell at the age of eight and continued playing to the age of 16. Coach Connors started coaching baseball in 1996 as an assistant coach for his dad , Doug, in the Kalispell Pee Wee minor and Majors organizations. He did this as an assistant for five years. In 2002 he became an assistant coach for Tinseth and Associates in the Babe Ruth Baseball League. In 2003 he became the head coach for Tinseth and Associates. In 2004 Coach Connors became an assistant coach for the Kalispell Lakers "A" team and held this position until 2006. In 2007 He became the head coach of the Kalispell Lakers "A". In total Coach Connors has been coaching for 11 years. He is married to his wife, Carie, and they have a four and a half month old son, Aaron Patrick.
